ABOUT
TEACHER
Matthew Ridley has a formal music education, graduating from The Academy Of Contemporary Music in 2016 with a BA Honours Music Performance degree under tutors such as Giorgio Serci and Frank Tontoh, with experience of a wide variation of musical situations that he uses to inform his teaching such as: big band jazz orchestra (NYJO), musical theatre, pop/rock groups, solo instrumentalist, lounge singer, classical/contemporary vocal accompaniment, live event management and studio engineer assistant.
With his education and experience, he is a great teacher for students at any stage of their musical journey. Matthew loves seeing students progress and take particular pleasure when students carry on learning even after their lessons have finished.
PERFORMER
Matthew is a versatile guitarist with a penchant for contemporary acoustic playing. He is a brilliant performer either as a solo act or part of a band, able to deliver in any setting, whether it be a small dingy folk club, accompanying a classical lounge singer, or as part of a big band jazz orchestra.
A freelance musician and teacher since the age of 17, Matthew has performed for private and corporate events all around the UK.
As a solo act Matthew has an extensive repertoire available for selection clients are able to pick based on either a decade, genre or event type.
